Our School Partners

Our fishweir building partners this year are the afterschool program at the Neighborhood House Charter School in Dorchester, MA, and the Friends of the Public Garden. On fishweir building day, NHCS students Elizabeth Murray, Aryana Blake, Jazzy Grissettt and Clevis Murray greet the public and explain the fishweir and its role in the history of this place we now call Boston.

This is the fishweir on the Boston Common, 2007.

For the 6th Annual Ancient Fishweir Project we will be working with students in the afterschool
program of the Neighborhood House Charter School in Dorchester in a program sponsored by The Friends of the Public Garden.

The Ancient Fishweir Project is an annual ritual involving new groups of Boston Public School children each year. A related curriculum has been developed and will be expanded upon each year, with teachers working with our team of advisors.
