Currently on view in the Boylston Street subway station are several exhibits highlighting the ancient history of the Shawmut Peninsula, the land that now comprises part of Boston's downtown including the Boston Common.

This exhibit shows a stone tool found in the vicinity
of the Boston Common. It's probable age is 6,000 to
8,000 years before present
.



This exhibit highlights a cast from a clay pot
fragment showing an imprint of the fabric used in
making the vessel.
